We are looking for a civil engineer to work on transmission line foundations, access roads, drainage and industrial site works for utility and industrial clients in Western Canada, with occasional involvement in our African projects.
What you will do
- Produce civil and structural design packages for transmission line foundations, access roads, drainage structures and site platforms.
- Interpret geotechnical reports and select appropriate foundation types for varied ground conditions.
- Prepare quantity take offs, cost estimates and technical specifications for tender.
- Review contractor submittals and answer requests for information during construction.
- Visit sites for inspection and as built verification, and write clear field reports.
What we are looking for
- Bachelor degree in civil engineering.
- Eligibility for registration with EGBC, or an existing P.Eng. or EIT designation in a Canadian province.
- Three or more years of design experience on infrastructure or utility projects.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D, and of a structural analysis package.
- Clear written English. French is an asset for our Quebec and Africa projects.
