Water infrastructure only works if the hydrology, the hydraulics and the construction all agree. At Bougourma in Cameroon we handled both the design and the construction oversight of an irrigated perimeter over a nine month programme, and our municipal practice covers drainage, stormwater and water supply design for growing towns.

Standards and tools
Hydraulic and hydrologic design is carried out in EPA SWMM and StormCAD using TR-20 and TR-55 methods, and environmental and social safeguards are applied within the policy frameworks of the World Bank and the African Development Bank.
Design and delivery in one team
On the Bougourma perimeter the same six-person team produced the design and then oversaw the construction. That removes the usual gap between what was drawn and what was built, and it is the model we prefer wherever a client will allow it.
