Client: TPC
Location: Madjo to Djen, Doba, Logone Oriental, Chad
Status: Completed, January to March 2026
Overview
The challenge. The Madjo to Djen road on the OFDA premises in Doba crosses ground where uncontrolled runoff was the main threat to the roadway: without engineered crossings, seasonal water finds its own path through the embankment and takes the road with it. The works had to install permanent drainage where the road needed it while keeping the corridor open.
Our approach. The works installed steel culverts at the crossing points and constructed reinforced-concrete walls and headwalls around the installed structures — including twin-cell headwalls finished with stone-pitched aprons to control scour at the outlets. TAWARA SARL supervised the works for TPC: accepting the structural works stage by stage, from culvert bedding and installation through reinforcement and concrete works to the finished aprons, preparing progress meeting minutes, and managing quality control and work acceptance through to sign-off. Construction was executed by STAR Oilfield Services.
The outcome. Completed between January and March 2026 — ahead of the wet season — the new structures now protect the Madjo to Djen road, giving seasonal runoff engineered paths under the roadway instead of through it. Together with the Kome 4–Madjo upgrading and the Madjo–Doba repairs, this completes a coordinated 2025–2026 roads programme on the OFDA premises, all delivered under one TAWARA supervision team with zero Lost Time Incidents.
