Client: TPC
Location: Madjo to Doba national road, Logone Oriental, Chad
Status: Completed, December 2025
Overview
The challenge. The 12-kilometre Madjo to Doba national road serves the OFDA premises in Logone Oriental, and its riding surface had deteriorated to the point where potholes were slowing traffic and accelerating further pavement damage. On a remote site, a conventional hot-mix repair campaign carries a heavy logistics burden — plant, haulage and temperature windows — that the corridor’s maintenance need did not justify.
Our approach. The repair campaign used cold asphalt, a fast and durable technique well suited to remote sites: material that can be stockpiled near the works, placed into a prepared pothole, raked and compacted without heating plant. TAWARA SARL supervised the works for TPC — controlling the preparation of each repair, the placing and compaction of the material, and the quality of the finished patches — while preparing the meeting minutes and managing materials, workmanship and work acceptance through to sign-off. Construction was carried out by STAR Oilfield Services.
The outcome. The December 2025 campaign restored the riding surface along the full 12 kilometres, arresting the deterioration cycle and keeping the OFDA access corridor serviceable through the months in which the larger Kome 4–Madjo upgrading and Madjo–Djen drainage works were underway nearby. Delivered with zero Lost Time Incidents, consistent with every TAWARA supervision engagement to date.
